This new lightweight model from Dr. Martens fuses a street-casual look with original cobbling techniques that have been honed and refined for over 50 years of shoe and boot manufacturing. The combination of this contemporary upper styling and materials reinvent this all time classic.

Fabric company British Millerain specialise in the manufacturing of performance fabrics and today are one of the leading exponents in the field. They manufacture a range of materials from waxed cotton to heavyweight canvas. Whether on the high street or the high seas British Millerain is dedicated in offering the latest in fabric technology to a wide and diverse range of markets.

We have two models (The Manton & The Nixon) in two colour options. The Manton an updated Desert Boot features a welted sole (either khaki camo coloured or pixelated desert couloured), contrast stitching and the classic Dr. Martens heel tab. The Manton Khaki has a water resistant suede upper with canvas lining and fudge coloured outsole, the Manton Sand has been applied with a 10oz heavyweight canvas upper, porcelain coloured laces and Beige Aqualine inner lining.

The Nixon available in two different camo options features a Goodyear welted sole (the upper and sole are heat sealed and then welted together). The first option is the Nixon Khaki Camo, a waxed, weatherproofed cotton canvas using the British Army Camo print with Electric Orange cotton drill lining. Additional touches are the Bitter Chocolate coloured storm welt and Fudge coloured outsole. The Nixon Desert Storm camo uses the contemporary US Marine Core pixelated camo print with a Milkshake coloured storm welt and Aqualine Shoal beige coloured lining.

When Adidas brought back their consortium range last year, the slate was wiped clean giving a fresh start to the premium range. Back for 2012 with the next collection, Adidas invited nine creative partners to fill in the canvas. Concentrating on the 2012 London Olympics the partners were asked to take inspiration from their own Olympic memories from the past and translate that on to various models. From a London photographer’s poolside inspired ZX500, to a Sydney fashion designer’s track and field take on the Matchplay the ‘Your Story’ Consortium line is as diverse as the cultures engaged in the Olympics itself.

The Adidas Consortium ‘Your Story’ collection is due to be released on Saturday 19th May. Kate Moross x Adidas Baltic Cup:

Kate Moross’s love all things geometric has earned her a solid reputation in the creative industry. Her distinctive style has her partnering up with Adidas Originals paying homage to the Olympics in her own way. The shoe is made of a suede grey upper with reflective triangles covering the shoe (some in the Olympic ring colours). With a grey midsole and grey laces, bright green fabric loop tag sits on the heel and a red loop tag on the tongue with Kate Morros.

Jim Thomson x Adidas Matchplay:

Jim Thompson of Sydney label Three Over One sticks to his uncomplicated design aesthetic on the Matchplay. Thompson looked back through to the Adi archives of Track & Field shoes of the 30′s as inspiration. Using black waxed leather for the upper giving the shoe an overall vinatge look. The matching Pigskin suede toe-box adding that extra attention to detail whilst the lack of inner-ling gives the shoe a hand-crafted feel.

Quote x ZX500:

Berlin native and sneaker collector Quote is passionate about the ZX500, remaining loyal to the 80′s original using a mix of suede and mesh materials. This muted colurway is influenced by the blue and white striped track of the Berlin Olympic stadium where his favourite football team are based, the olympic colours are incorporated nicely on the outsole of the shoe. On the inside of the tongue’s loop tag sits a fist tattooed with Quote’s namesake.

DJ Muro x Adidas Pro Shell:

DJ Muro brings his bold and what he describes as ‘aggressive’ version of the Pro Shell with strong, deep colour choices of dark green with red pops. The shoe features a black suede upper with green jersey material on the ankle padding that features engineered stripes reminiscent of a track tops cuff. DJ Muro’s skull and crossbones logo sits on the heel for a tough looking street shoe that represents Tokyo.

Aloe Blacc x Adidas Decade Hi:

Representing L.A is singer/songwriter Aloe Blacc. He has partnered with Adidas Originals to bring his own memories of the Olympics on the Decade Hi. The ox blood premium leather upper is suggestive of African soil whilst the translucent gum outsole represents the bare foot of Blacc’s inspiration, Ethiopian gold medalist and marathon runner Abebe Bikila. A de-bossed logo of Aloe Blacc’s sunglasses and bow tie sits on the inside of the tongue loop tag.

With an outdoor theme Packer Shoes apply old school style colourways to Saucony’s tech runner the Grid 9000, featuring muted panels with vibrant accents. One colour option features earthy colours while the other is an option more suited to lighter, brighter weather. Materials include a soft premium Nubuck, breathable mesh on the toe-box and tongue with Saucony’s unique wrap-a-round sock that hugs the foot for extra comfort. The Packer Shoes logo sits on mesh strap connected to the lace holes on the side panel.

With their strongly themed co-labs 24 Kilates are back for 2012 with the Asics Gel Saga this time taking inspiration from a festival held in Seville, Spain the ‘Feria De Abril’. The festival celebrates spring and the resurrection after the Easter Holy week.

Premium materials have been used on this silhouette with a mix of green and red Suede and Nubuck on the upper and a tough Ripstop material toe-box. The de-bossed 24 Kilates logo sits subtly on the heel with an embossed Gel Saga logo on the lateral side of the shoe. Additional features are the gold accents, the inner sole artwork which features a Flamenco guitar and printed logo laces.

The Air Force One has been given the ‘Vac Tech’ treatment dressed with a Woodland camo upper and the Max Air sole unit. With waxed black laces, perforated leather lining and the AF1 anniversary insole artwork, coming in the pull-tray anniversary shoe box.

With distinguishable features such as the toe cap ‘smile’ the Jack Purcell Johnny is another classic model hailing from the Converse camp. Reworked with premium materials, this nautical themed shoe features a striped canvas upper with a rip stop side panel overlay, tortoise shell style eyelets and a triple banded navy/white heel stripe. These look great in the sunshine! Available in the Graystone colourway in the Hi and Goblin Blue in the low.

The deck shoe inspired Sea Star LS uses a nylon ripstop upper dressed in all black or Stussy’s camo print with suede inner lining around the heel, and the Stussy logo hangtag sitting on the lateral side of the shoe. Equipped with tan leather laces and dual branded camo inner-sole.

The other new Converse model, the Elms LS features an all black leather upper with minor stitch detailing. Incorporating design elements from hiking boots with D-ring eyelets and waxed round boot laces in red or black. The Stussy brand logo is de-bossed on the outer heel with the white midsole adding contrast to the model.

Vans Vault introduce these two-toned Era LX models with a mix of suede and twill canvas completing the make-up . Each colour complements each other coming equipped with the cushioned removable insole, metal eyelets and brown leather cord style laces. Taking influence from dress shoes is the Spectator LX with hairy suede and leather panels with brogue detailing, whilst the Priz Laced II LX gets the ‘all leather’ treatment coming in two colours (Vanilla and Brown), with tonal stitching, leather toe-box and trim surrounding the midsole.

This OG colourway last made an appearance back in 2004 featuring a predominantly black leather upper with a white leather trim surrounding the side panel. The design was inspired by the Nisshoki (the Japanese rising sun flag) as well as a 19th century womens dress boot. The stitched leather portions radiate outward like the sun’s rays. The bottom features a white colorway, with black inserts which feature a modified herringbone pattern.
