Today, Converse offers a highly diverse portfolio – one of their more premium product offerings is Converse ‘First String’, these collections are focused on original silhouettes, modern design, premium construction, high-level distribution and occasional collaborations with originals in art, design, fashion and culture. Designed to showcase Converse’s most coveted product, the Converse First String collections are focused on original silhouettes, modern design, premium construction, high-level distribution and occasional collaborations with originals in art, design, fashion and culture. The Converse First String Standards is a collection of very special, hand-picked silhouettes mined from the Converse archives, and re-considered.
For their first two offerings in this ’1970s’ collection, Converse have re-introduced the ‘Chuck Taylor Ox – Parchment’ and the ‘Chuck Taylor Hi – Black’. These ’1970s All Stars’ Borrow subtle details from sneakers in the era when Converse was celebrated by iconic rock ‘n’ rollers, basketball legends who have won championships and skateboarders that have ripped pools. The 1970s Chuck Taylor All Star silhouettes feature slight differences that, at first, may only be recognisable to collectors and astute fans; however, upon careful inspection the sneaker features slightly higher rubber foxing along the sole, added cushioning, and a slightly more substantial toe box. Additional vintage details include stitching on the sidewall, a vintage license plate on the heel, and a super heavy-grade canvas upper.
The Converse First String 1970s Chuck Taylor is SOLD OUT.
