adidas Originals bring back a Torsion-based running silhouette from the ’90s after a twenty year hiatus – The Torsion Allegra, with Solebox Berlin helping along the way!
One of the most successful technologies of the past was the Torsion Bar system, which was developed for support and flexibility. The Torsion Allegra EQT takes inspiration from the Allegra S that was released back in 1992 (both colourway and material spec), adidas enlisted Berlin based sneaker boutique Solebox to create their interpretation of the Torsion Allegra.
Solebox kept reference to to the Allegra S with its’ colourway with the added twist of neon green pops on the medial side and sock liner. Mixed coloured suede panels feature on the upper with a nylon mesh toe-box and 3-Stripe branding. A neoprene tongue completes the look with red tongue and heel pull tabs and the 3M reflective quarter panel. Solebox branding can be seen on the heel with a bright yellow Torsion bar on the outsole as an ode to the original.
The Torsion Allegra EQT uses a lighter colourway with a light taupe synthetic suede upper and white mesh toe-box. Forest green accents can be seen on the medial side, heel and outsole, whilst the red tongue and sock-liner add a burst of colour to the shoe.
The Solebox x adidas Torsion Allegra & Torsion Allegra EQT [SOLD OUT]. The Torsion Allegra EQT starts from a UK6 – UK11 (including half sizes) both priced at £110.
