This month sees the release of our first ever collaboration with Japanese footwear brand ASICS.
When we were approached by ASICS to do a collaboration on the Gel Saga II we didn’t hesitate in answering back, fast forward a year and we have the end product! We took some inspiration from our store interior and craft of natural materials – wood, Metal and Rubber. Starting from the ground up we applied a gum outsole, a first on the ASICS Gel Saga, on an off white gel cushioned midsole. Using a full suede camel coloured upper with blue accents on the lateral side of the shoe, outsole, tongue and heel. We added small perforation panels on the toe-box and side panels for a little extra detail. We designed the shoes asymmetrically so the blue ASICS logo stripes on outer side feature a 3M reflective trim, whereas the inner ASICS stripes reveal a full 3M logo with blue trim. The de-bossed Footpatrol bar logo sits on the outer side of the heel on the left foot and on the inner side on the right foot. The same method is applied to the ASIS Gel Saga text logo. Our gas mask logo sits comfortably centered on the heel on the right foot with ASICS logo accompanying it on the left foot. We decided to go for suede inner lining keeping the insole an off white colour for added contrast.
