Converse team up with graffiti artist Andre ‘Monsieur A’ Saraiva for Purple Magazine on these two special edition Chuck Taylor Hi’s.
Born in Sweden, Andre Saraiva’s work became popular in the late 90′s in particular his stick like character featuring a round headed cartoon character with long legs and toothy smile. Teaming up alongside Converse and Purple magazine (fashion mag) together they have come up with a clean spin on the Chuck Taylor high. Consisting of two versions: The First String CT Hi (winter white/purple), and the CT Spec Hi (winter white/pink). Looking at both models from afar one would think that these shoes are from Converse in-line collection, however a closer inspection will reveal the details. Featuring a canvas upper with a slightly vintage-effect midsole and metal eyelets. The Converse rubber heel tab features in black with both models keeping the red and blue trim around the midsole. A co-branded printed logo features on the tongue, and the inner lining has been completely dressed in leather. The First String edition (white/purple) features a removable in-sole with a black and white photographic print of women’s legs. On the side panel is a crest logo in white, blue and red with a purple outer sole. On the inside of the CT Spec edition is Andre’s cartoon stick character in pink. This version also includes a removable leather in-sole. Both models come with alternate laces (pink or purple) and a shoe bag.
The Andre Saraiva x Purple Magazine x Converse CT Hi are available now as a Footpatrol UK exclusive. Sizes range from a UK6 – UK11 at £80.
