Adidas Originals Consortium Tabula Rasa Collection

After a brief hiatus, Adidas Originals Consortium series returns being inspired by the Latin term “Tabula Rasa” (meaning “Blank Slate”).

In re-establishing its Consortium series, Adidas Originals goes back to basics with this “blank slate” pack which features a palette of natural white toned shoes finished off in premium materials. Thus creating a blank canvas for the new Consortium program. Digging deep within their archive, Adidas pulled out five models (Baltic Cup, Decade, Matchplay, Pro Shell & ZX500). Adidas has also paid meticulous attention to artistry and quality of materials. Premium leathers are consistent across all silhouettes, with generous use of super-soft Suede, Nubuck and Pigskin. Prominent features like waxed laces, metal lace tips, suede tongue and thick threading gives the range a superior handcrafted feel. A new feature which will be seen on all future Consortium offerings is a fabric loop tag secured by an eyelet that sits on the tongue.

BC (otherwise known as the Baltic Cup) – Deriving from the most important handball tournament held between 1968 and 1989. Built for the courts, the original was released in the early ‘70s but it was during the ‘80s that the model really took off.

Decade - Orignally released in 1985 with production having ceased the following year, only to make a comeback in 2003 with a new outsole.

Matchplay – A tennis shoe also known as the Arthur Ashe (tennis player) professional tennis player.

Pro Shell - Back in the ’80s, the Pro Shell was a popular basketball shoe and has since gained traction on the streets with its standout design.

ZX500 – A much-loved style from the get go. Since its release in the early ’80s, a tremendously range of colourways have been created.

The Adidas Consortium ‘Tabula Rasa’ pack is due to be released both in-store and for mail order on Saturday 26th November. Size ranges from UK7 – UK12 (not including half sizes). The B.C priced at £110, Matchplay £110, Pro Shell £115, and the ZX500 at £105.
