Vans continue on with their successful Vault collaboration with fellow Californian artist Taka Hayashi.
Last years’ effort saw a mix of canvas and leather used on these special make-ups of the SK8-Hi and Derby LX. This time round, the colourways have an ‘earthy’ essence to them, with colours such as Nero (black). The SK8-Hi midsole is bound in a pale coloured leather with contrasting off-white stitching, along with the smooth leather side panels which give the shoe its’ distinct look. The leather laces only add more flair to the shoe. The Derby LX returns, this time with part leather part suede panels, making the shoe a lot more rigid. A nice addition to this seasons’ model is the coloured crepe sole, with the light leather trim. These could easily pass as the ‘smart’ shoe in the wardrobe, and is definitely something that will grow well with age.
The Taka Hayashi x Vans Vault Line is now available at Foot Patrol. SK8-Hi LX Nero or Brown available from size UK7 – UK11 at £130. The Derby LX Nero or Brown available from size UK7 – UK11 at £150.
