American brand Generic Surplus represents a post-modern sneaker philosophy that with a relentless commitment to functionality and design reflects the art, music and fashion scenes of contemporary Los Angeles. For Spring 2011 we have the Borstal and Plimsol shoe.
Founded in L.A back in 2008, their aim is to take the evolution of an everyday shoe one step further. With that in mind the team behind the brand have come up with two clean, simple models, The Borstal and Plimsol These shoes feature canvas uppers with minimal panelling and a textured soles. For the Plimsol, you have your classic ‘all white’ canvas model, the Borstal takes it up a notch by using higher quality materials. One is a blue chambray type material with a suede panel at the heel, and dark blue stitch detail, whilst the other can be referred to a ‘tweed’ like material with the brown suede panelling at the heel. All combined with cord laces.
The Generic Surplus Borstal & Plimsol Canvas are available both in-store and for mail order now. Sizes UK7 – UK11 from £64.99
