Canadian brand Herschel Supply Co. introduce us to their Spring 2011 luggage collection.
The Herschel brand dates back to the 1900′s, where founder Peter Alexander Cormack used the brand name to manufacture barrels. Over a century after moving from the Atlantic on to Canadian soil, Peter’s grandchildren took over the business, but chose to manufacture backpacks and bags. Inspiration is drawn from vintage mountaineering, American heritage, world travel and fashion.
We have two styles from their spring range: The Village and The Claim backpack.
The Village backpack is your everyday street style bag with two compartments. The red and white pinstriped main compartment, and a black fleeced lined compartment that holds your laptop (up to 17inch). On the left side of the backpack sits a hole to thread your earphones through the bag. The front compartment features a seamed waterproof zip ideal for keeping papers, media etc. Situated at the top of the backpack is a leather carry handle, leather panelling at the bottom of the backpack, and another fleeced lined zip pocket which Herschel describes as storage for your sunglasses. With their signature ‘tear away’ removable waist straps, this backpack most definitely covers all areas for all your items. The Village backpack comes in Black/Black, Black/Tan or Navy/Tan colours.
The Claim backpack looks like a classic outdoor style bag with its’ wide top entry mechanism. It features a single front clip metal clasp system, completely lined in Herschel’s custom printed cotton/poly fabric. The front compartment house sections for your stationery and notebooks with a clip to keep your keys safe. Also featuring the tan leather handle and leather piping detail, with the Herschel branding sitting in the bottom right hand corner. The Claim backpack is available in Black/Tan and Navy/Tan colours.
